1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They let the site recognise your browser and remember certain information between visits.

2. Cookies we use

PlantDiary uses essential technical cookies, necessary for the service to work, and, on the plantdiary.app site, analytics cookies that are only set if you accept them. We do not use advertising or social media sharing cookies.

3. Mobile app

The PlantDiary mobile app does not use cookies. It stores on your device, in local storage, only what it needs to work: your authenticated session (access token), your language preference and your notification settings. This data is deleted when you sign out or uninstall the app.

4. Legal basis

Essential technical cookies are necessary to provide the service and do not require your consent, under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and applicable national law. When you use the service, these cookies are set automatically. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Third-party cookies

On the plantdiary.app site we use Google's Google Analytics for visit statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies (Meta Pixel or equivalents).

Some operations take place on third-party domains, which apply their own policies: Stripe's checkout and billing portal and, if you choose to sign in with a social account, the authentication pages of Google or Apple. Those cookies are set by those entities on their own domains, not by us.

6. How to manage cookies

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential technical cookies will prevent the service from working correctly (you will not be able to stay signed in). You can also accept or reject analytics cookies at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer.
